Join us for a Parent Portal Training and Input Meeting on December 5, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. at the Emmett Shockley Admin Building, 400 Cody Rd. Laptops will be available for your use during the training. Learn to: Register a new student, update information, view your child's grades and attendance, communicate with your child's teacher(s). Other topics will include: Deming Intermediate School Presentation, district operation updates, question and answer session, kids holiday craft table, food and drinks provided.

Deming High School Student Chosen for Next Level in Prestigious Scholarship Program

Local high school senior Ayshleen Lopez has been named a Semifinalist for the 2025 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, moving to the next round of the selection process to become a Coca-Cola Scholar and receive a $20,000 college scholarship. A joint effort of Coca-Cola bottlers across the country and The Coca-Cola Company, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program is the largest corporate-sponsored, achievement-based scholarship program in the United States. With the addition of the 2025 class, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation will have provided more than 7,050 Coke Scholars nationwide with over $87 million in scholarships over the course of 37 years.

Here’s how you can stay visible and safe: • Wear bright colors like neon or yellow, especially in low-light conditions. • Add reflective gear to your backpack, jacket, or shoes to increase visibility. • Avoid distractions like headphones or texting while walking to the bus stop—stay alert and aware of your surroundings. Safe Bus Stops: Protecting Our Students, One Stop at a Time

Ensuring safety at the bus stop is a shared responsibility for students, parents, and the entire community. By following a few simple guidelines, we can create a safer environment for everyone. For Students: • Arrive early – Be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the bus arrives. • Stand back – Wait in a safe area, away from the curb or street. • Stay visible – Wear bright or reflective clothing, especially in low-light conditions. • No running or horseplay – Keep distractions to a minimum while waiting for the bus. • Cross safely – Always cross in front of the bus, never behind, and wait for the driver’s signal before crossing.

My Little School Construction Project
07/19/2024
Jaynes Construction is starting construction work for the My Little School Addition and Renovation Project. During this time there will be increased traffic in the areas of Buckeye, Iron, and Olive Streets. School Bus drop off and pick up area will be unchanged during the project. Please observe all safety signage and exercise caution. There will be heavy equipment and increased traffic in the area. The project is scheduled to be complete by June 30, 2025.
