Olivia Paez, Board Member
Olivia Paez is a dedicated social worker and community advocate with over 20 years of experience in the field. A graduate of Western New Mexico University, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2004 before continuing her education at New Mexico State University, where she completed her Master's degree in Social Work in 2007. Licensed to practice in Social Work for two decades, Mrs. Paez has made a lasting impact through her service to vulnerable populations, focusing on both medical and educational social work.
Mrs. Paez spent 20 years serving Deming Public Schools, where she worked tirelessly to support students' emotional and educational well-being. She has a deep connection to the district, as all four of her children graduated from Deming Public Schools and went on to earn degrees from New Mexico State University in various fields of study. Her commitment to the community and her work with disenfranchised groups has been central to her career.
Currently employed by Hatch Public Schools, Mrs. Paez provides mentorship to counselors and social workers within the district. In this role, she focuses on building strong relationships with community organizations while addressing the social-emotional and educational needs of vulnerable student populations. Her work has been instrumental in creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students facing challenges, ensuring that they have the resources and guidance to succeed.
In addition to her professional contributions, Mrs. Paez has served on numerous community boards throughout the years and is currently a member of the Community Health Care Foundation Board. She continues to dedicate herself to improving the lives of those around her through her work in public service.
Outside of her professional and community service, Mrs. Paez values her time with family and friends. She enjoys traveling, exploring nature, and reading. Her passion for education and her belief in its transformative power is evident in her ongoing work with the Board of Education, where she continues to champion the importance of education as a tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. Through her leadership and service, Olivia Paez is helping to empower the next generation to become competent, employable, and healthy adults.
